Gayle Holmes
Gayle has always wanted to be an artist, she was finally at a point in her life where she decided "this is the time." Gayle started taking art seriously in 2004, which was her first experience with the basics of drawing, painting and fine art, this opened the door to her passion of painting. Her instruction was based on Russian Impressionism principles, which gave her the fundamentals of art, she then adapted these principals to her own style which is more classical realism.
Her instructor, who saw potential, took Gayle personally under her wing, teaching her to become a classical drawing instructor. Gayle will always be indebted to Patty Raab, her best friend and mentor, who was suddenly taken away, leaving her legacy with Gayle.
Gayle believes that God is the master artist, that everyone should open their eyes, take a few moments everyday, to see the beauty that surrounds us. Gayle strives to portray these gifts
in her paintings. She is constantly challenged by what she sees, and feels she will never be bored as long as she has a paint brush in her hand, the ability to see and express herself as
an artist.
Gayle was born and raised in Skagit County, she currently resides in La Conner, Washington.
She has been married for 41 years, has three sons and 7 grandchildren.
